On the call
Can I use a teleprompter on Zoom, Teams or Google Meet?
Yes, and nobody on the call needs to know. Open the Audience Stage window, share that one window in the meeting, and keep your script on the rest of your screen. The people on the call see your slides; your script stays with you.
Which window do I share?
Share the Audience Stage window itself. Not your whole screen, and not a mirrored display — both of those can put your script in front of everyone. If the wrong window does get shared, one key blanks everything private.
Will they see my notes if I share a PowerPoint in presenter mode?
That is the usual way it goes wrong, because presenter mode and screen sharing fight over which display is which. Sharing a single window avoids the question: there is only one thing being shared, and it only ever holds slides.
Do I have to click to change slides while I am talking?
No. Each slide moves when you reach its words, so your hands stay free for the mouse, the chat or nothing at all. Spoken commands like “next slide” work too, and you can always move them by hand.
How do I keep eye contact when I am reading?
Put the script directly under your webcam. On a laptop, Teleprompter → Layout → Camera prompter does that, so your eyes stay near the lens instead of travelling to the far corner of the screen.
Can I use my phone as the prompter and the laptop for the call?
Yes. The same account works in a browser, on iPhone and on Android, so the phone can hold the script while the laptop runs the meeting.
Microsoft Teams
Does Teams need anything installed?
No. Aitho runs in the browser, so Teams does not know it is there. Share the Audience Stage window the same way you would share a document.
What about Teams on a work laptop with locked-down software?
Nothing is installed and nothing needs admin rights — a browser tab is enough. If your organisation blocks the microphone in the browser, the script still scrolls by hand, and spoken slide commands are the part you lose.
Google Meet
Does Google Meet show a “presenting” banner over my slides?
Meet’s own indicators sit in the Meet window, not inside the window you shared, so what the others see is your slide. Make the Audience Stage window full size before you share so there is no desktop visible around it.
Webinars and recordings
Can I use it for a recorded webinar or a take?
Yes, and it is the easiest case: no audience is reading your face in real time, and the script following your voice means you can stop, re-say a sentence and carry on without hunting for your place.
Does my voice get stored?
No. It is used to keep your place in the script and is not kept. In the browser it goes to your browser’s own speech service, or to Aitho’s servers if you pick that mode; in the phone app, recognition runs on the phone when the phone supports it.
