VirtualSpeech alternative: choose a rehearsal workflow for your upcoming conference keynote

You have a finished deck and an event date. One option puts you in front of a virtual audience; another keeps you in your own room with your script following your voice.

The short answer

If you are looking for a VirtualSpeech alternative for a keynote, compare the rehearsal environments: VirtualSpeech lets you present your slides to a virtual audience in the browser or a VR headset and gives AI feedback, while Aitho rehearses your deck with a script that follows your voice, slides that advance when you reach their words and private question practice from your own material. For practising in front of a simulated audience, VirtualSpeech fits; for rehearsing the delivery of this deck and using the same setup on the day, Aitho does.

Start with the keynote

A keynote rehearsal has three parts: the words, the delivery under pressure, and the setup on the day. Different tools help with different parts, and the organisers' rules decide what you can use on stage.

What VirtualSpeech says it offers

From VirtualSpeech's website and its online presentation practice page (as of October 2026):

  • "Present to a virtual audience, from a 1:1 pitch to a conference stage."
  • "Load in your presentation slides to practice with."
  • Feedback on "your pace, filler words, pitch, listenability, and more", and "Scores and a debrief with an AI coach after every session."
  • Audience and room distractions you can turn on, and audio recording of the session to listen back.
  • Access "in the browser" on laptops and tablets, and "Full immersion on Meta Quest and compatible headsets."
  • AI roleplay conversations, a training library and team analytics for organisations.

Prices are not listed on those pages; it directs visitors to sales or its pricing section.

What Aitho is built for

Aitho starts from the deck you already made.

  • Bring your slides. Import a PDF or PowerPoint file (.pdf, .pptx or .ppt). Export Keynote and Google Slides decks to PDF before importing. Aitho doesn't edit your slides.
  • Your script, or a draft. Paste what you'll say on each slide, or use Draft with AI for a draft from your slides that you edit into your own words (AI drafts are in Pro and Presenter Pro).
  • The script follows your voice. Press Start and speak. If you pause, the script waits; when your words return, it catches up.
  • Slides advance as you reach their words. Spoken commands like "next slide" also work, and you can move slides by hand.
  • A separate audience screen. In a room, open aitho.app/cast on the presentation laptop and enter a 6-digit code: the audience sees the slides while your script stays on your phone or laptop. On Zoom, Teams or Meet, you share the Audience Stage window.
  • Private Q&A practice. Attach your own documents and practise likely questions; a suggested answer from your material appears on your screen. The free plan includes three to try.
  • Where it runs. Web (present.aitho.app), iPhone, iPad and Android, with one account. On iPhone and iPad, following your script works offline; on Android it needs a connection. Aitho also connects to Claude and Mistral Le Chat as a connector; a ChatGPT app is in review.

Aitho is free to start: the free plan includes the voice-following script, your own PDF or PowerPoint (or the sample talk), spoken slide commands and three private answers to try, with no card.

Aitho does not offer a virtual audience, a VR environment or delivery scores.

When VirtualSpeech is the better fit

  • You want to feel a crowd, a stage and distractions before the real event.
  • You have a VR headset, or your organisation runs training with VirtualSpeech.
  • You want scored feedback and an AI debrief after each session.

When Aitho is the better fit

  • You want to rehearse the exact words of this deck without losing your place.
  • You want slides that move as you speak, in rehearsal and, where allowed, on the day.
  • You want to practise the questions from your own papers and notes.

Rehearse the keynote with Aitho as often as you like; the organisers' rules apply to what you use on stage. For a rehearsal plan, see how to rehearse a conference talk.

A two-slide test you can repeat with both tools

Use the opening two slides of your keynote. In VirtualSpeech, load them and present to a virtual audience, then read the feedback. In Aitho, import them, write three sentences each, and rehearse out loud with a pause and a skipped sentence. Then do one run in front of a real listener. Keep whichever helped with the part of the keynote that worries you.
