Orai alternative: choose presentation support around the talk you need to give

Orai trains speaking habits with short scored exercises. A class presentation is a specific talk with specific slides. Which you need depends on what is coming up.

The short answer

If you are looking for an Orai alternative, start with the job: Orai scores filler words, pace, clarity and energy after short practice scenarios, while Aitho rehearses the slide presentation you actually have to give, with a script that follows your voice and slides that advance when you reach their words. For building general speaking habits, Orai fits; for practising your own deck before a class presentation, Aitho does.

Start with what is coming up

Picture a student with a class presentation next week: a deck, a time limit and a grade. Practising general speaking habits helps over months. Rehearsing this deck, out loud, until it fits the time helps this week. Many people want both; it is worth knowing which problem you are solving today.

What Orai says it does

From Orai's website (as of October 2026):

  • "Filler words, pace, clarity, and energy - scored the moment you finish speaking."
  • "Bite-sized scenarios - the pitch, the toast, the tough question."
  • Streaks and trends to track progress, and "Try this next" suggestions after each practice.
  • Apps on the App Store and Google Play, and a web version at app.orai.com.

Pricing, importing your own slides and teleprompter features are not described on its site.

What Aitho is built for

Aitho starts from the deck you already made.

  • Bring your slides. Import a PDF or PowerPoint file (.pdf, .pptx or .ppt). Export Keynote and Google Slides decks to PDF before importing. Aitho doesn't edit your slides.
  • Your script, or a draft. Paste what you'll say on each slide, or use Draft with AI for a draft from your slides that you edit into your own words (AI drafts are in Pro and Presenter Pro).
  • The script follows your voice. Press Start and speak. If you pause, the script waits; when your words return, it catches up.
  • Slides advance as you reach their words. Spoken commands like "next slide" also work, and you can move slides by hand.
  • A separate audience screen. In a room, open aitho.app/cast on the presentation laptop and enter a 6-digit code: the audience sees the slides while your script stays on your phone or laptop. On Zoom, Teams or Meet, you share the Audience Stage window.
  • Private Q&A practice. Attach your own documents and practise likely questions; a suggested answer from your material appears on your screen. The free plan includes three to try.
  • Where it runs. Web (present.aitho.app), iPhone, iPad and Android, with one account. On iPhone and iPad, following your script works offline; on Android it needs a connection. Aitho also connects to Claude and Mistral Le Chat as a connector; a ChatGPT app is in review.

Aitho is free to start: the free plan includes the voice-following script, your own PDF or PowerPoint (or the sample talk), spoken slide commands and three private answers to try, with no card.

When Orai is the better fit

  • You want to build speaking habits over weeks with scores and streaks.
  • You do not have a specific talk yet and want short exercises.
  • You want feedback on clarity and energy after each attempt.

When Aitho is the better fit

  • You have a specific deck and a date, and want to rehearse that talk end to end.
  • You keep losing your place and want the script to follow your voice.
  • You want the slides to move as you speak while you practise standing up.

For a graded class presentation, use Aitho to rehearse; your teacher's rules apply on the day. If you are also weighing Speeko, see our Speeko comparison.

A two-slide test you can repeat with both tools

Take the opening two slides of your presentation and write three sentences for each. In Orai, practise a scenario close to your talk and read the feedback. In Aitho, import the two slides, paste the sentences and rehearse out loud, pausing once and skipping a sentence. Keep the tool that helped with the problem you actually have: habits, or this talk.
