Aitho vs PowerPoint Speaker Coach: Delivery Feedback or a Script That Follows You?

PowerPoint Speaker Coach scores your pacing and filler words after a rehearsal. Aitho follows your voice through your script and moves your slides. Which fits your talk.

The short answer

PowerPoint Speaker Coach listens while you rehearse and gives you a report on pacing, pitch, filler words and whether you read your slides. Aitho does a different job: your script follows your voice as you speak, your slides advance when you reach each slide's words, and a private copilot drafts answers to audience questions from your own deck. If you want a score on your delivery, Speaker Coach is built for that. If you want help keeping your place and handling questions, in rehearsal and on the day, Aitho is built for that. Many people can use both. The practical difference on the day: with Aitho you need no clicker and nobody has to wait for you to say "next slide."

Start with what you need fixed

People look for a Speaker Coach alternative for two different reasons. Some want better feedback on how they sound. Others have the feedback already and their real problem is different: they lose their place, they read the slides, or they freeze when the questions start. It helps to name which one you have before you pick a tool.

What PowerPoint Speaker Coach is built for

According to Microsoft's Speaker Coach support page (checked October 6, 2026):

  • It evaluates your pacing, pitch, filler words, informal speech, euphemisms and culturally sensitive terms, and notices when you are overly wordy or simply reading the text on a slide.
  • After each rehearsal it gives you a report that summarizes what it observed and offers recommendations.
  • It works in PowerPoint for the web, Windows and macOS, and on iOS and Android tablets.
  • It needs a microphone, an internet connection and a Microsoft account, and Microsoft says it currently understands English only.
  • Microsoft notes that Speaker Coach does not add timings to your slides or prepare a slide show to run automatically.

If you already present from PowerPoint and want an objective read on your delivery, that is a solid, built-in option.

What Aitho is built for

Aitho starts from the deck you already made and helps you deliver it, not just review it afterwards.

  • Bring your slides as they are. Import a PDF or PowerPoint file. Keynote and Google Slides work by exporting to PDF or PowerPoint first. Aitho never edits your slides.
  • A first-draft script if you need one. Aitho can draft a first-pass speaker script from your slides, which you then edit into your own words. Or paste your own.
  • Your script follows your voice. The script scrolls as you speak and highlights the word you are on.
  • Slides advance as you reach their words. When you speak into the next slide's section, the slide moves, so you are not reaching for a clicker mid-sentence.
  • A private presenter view, a slides-only audience view. Your script and answers stay on your screen. The room or the call sees only your slides.
  • A private Q&A copilot. When a question comes, the copilot drafts an answer from your deck and the documents you attach, shown only on your screen.

Other tools help you build, rehearse or read a presentation. Aitho helps you deliver it.

When Speaker Coach is the better fit

  • You want numbers on your delivery: how fast you speak, how many filler words you use, whether you read the slides.
  • You already work in PowerPoint and want feedback without adding another app.

When Aitho is the better fit

  • Your problem is losing your place, not your pace, and you want your words in front of you without the audience seeing them.
  • You want the slides to move with you instead of with a clicker.
  • The questions at the end worry you more than the talk, and you want to practise them against your own material.
  • Your deck is a PDF, or it came from Keynote, Google Slides, Canva or Gamma.

A sensible routine uses both: rehearse with Aitho until the talk flows, then run one pass through Speaker Coach for a delivery check. If your talk is judged or has rules about assistance (a pitch competition, a defense, an exam), check the rules first. Using Aitho to rehearse is always fine.
